Having a Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering BS from University of Missouri – Columbia and a MS from University of California – Berkeley, I use my knowledge to help others with all levels of math as well as in physics and chemistry.

With anecdotes involving differential equations from my real world experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space, material science explorations on the microscopic scale at Sandia National Laboratories, and practical applications in day-to-day life, I tie the subject matter to real world endeavors.

Beyond my experiences, I am lucky enough to have a wide array of friends and previous students who are doctors, professors, software, water quality, and mechanical engineers, start-up entrepreneurs, financial analysts, diplomats and more. I can speak of their work with their use of math & science in Silicon Valley, in San Francisco, and around the world. In fact, having a student ask me, “When am I going to ever use this?” is one of my favorite questions to answer.

I work with many age groups ranging from middle school to graduate students, with the peak of the bell curve being upperclassmen in high school and underclassmen in college. Some of my pupils are ‘A’ students who simply need a little help. Others are student athletes who need to maximize their limited study time to keep their grades. Still others are struggling students who are simply trying to keep up. Throughout the range, patience and persistence are virtues. This has allowed me to succeed with students diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, test anxiety, and other learning challenges as well.
